Lead Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has said a judicial process has been instituted against the Department of State Services (DSS) to allow him access his client.
Ejiofor made this known in a statement on Friday, noting there must be consequences for flouting a Court Order, as it is was his right as Kanu’s Lawyer to visit his client, especially when the court made had ordered that he be granted access to his client.
Expressing that Kanu’s team of lawyers are law abiding citizens, he stated that it was on that note they were back to explore judicial remedies in the circumstance of what he termed gross violation of a subsisting Court Order by the Department of State Security Services, adding that a judicial process towards compelling the Director General of the State Security Services’ to comply with the Order of Court, has been activated.
This comes after Ejiofor on Thursday alleged that the DSS denied him access his client, despite Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja granting him access at the last sitting.
