Following the nomination of Mrs Azuka Enemuo as the running mate to People’s Democratic Party(PDP) November 6 Governorship flagbearer, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, the PDP, on Thursday 29th July, 2021, gathered at Oma event center Awka, Anambra to pledge their full support to the duo.
Party faithfuls and stakeholders who gathered at the event expressed satisfaction and confidence over the choice of Mrs Azuka Enemuo, as running mate to their Candidate Valentine Ozigbo and at same time, urged her to do more than what she had done as a Commissioner.
Comrade Justina Nwafor, the PDP women leader, passed a vote of confidence on Mrs Azuka Enemuo as the credible person that can play a motherly roll and bear the concerns and welfare of women, youths and children.
Expressing his excitement, Mr Valentine Ozigbo , said the party has achieved a lot of objectives, among which is bringing everybody under one umbrella, as PDP is known for having an umbrella big enough to accommodate everybody. He also shared his delight in his ability to bring everybody together , especially as he has the youth and women in mind.
Valentine Ozigbo pleaded for togetherness and unity among all so they will come together to form one United family to win the election and urged other party members to join PDP.
Stating his reason for picking Azuka Enemuo as a running mate, Ozigbo said he chose her as his running mate, as a way of balancing and integrate.
He also said he has confidence in her administrative ability as she was a former Commissioner under Peter Obi and Willie Obiano before she resigned under Obiano as a seasoned administrator.
Obi made it clear that it happen in every party not just peculiar to PDP and is something he wish is not happening in Anambra state as he fell bad as an Anambraian when he was there for 8 years it was quite and we don’t have this kind of rascality and he think it wil end very soon he said,
He also seized the opportunity and called all the PDP members from wards, local government, and State Executives for reconciliation meeting as litigation in the party will soon end.
On her part, Mrs Azuka Enemuo thanked God and lauded the party’s formidable team spirit which has always been the value and strength of PDP and called on every Anambraian to come on board. She said PDP has the human resource and youthful candidate who will bring his excellent experience and standing by the significance of the umbrella they will win agu Awka.
The Anambra State women wing of the party, also sharing the same spirit with Ozigbo for choosing her as running mate, promised to give their support to make sure PDP win come November 6 .
Mrs Justina told the women that the journey has began as they leave to various destinations to canvas for PDP and sit up for the work ahead, while also urging them to be part of the ongoing voters card registration.
The dignitaries who graced the event were Sen Ben Ndii Obi, Chief Barr Okey Muo Aroh, Chief Cosmas Agagbo, Dr Alex Hon Ebere Ejiofor house member, Hon Ejike Oguabego, Comrade Justina Nwafor among others.
