The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo has denied reports of an alleged investigation into the failure of the Special Public Works Programme of the federal government, which seeks to create jobs for 774,000 Nigerians.

Keyamo made this known in a statement issued by his media aide, Tunde Moshood on Friday, describing the report of the failure of the scheme as, not just misleading but loaded with misinformation.

According to Keyamo, about 90 per cent of the 774,000 beneficiaries of the scheme have been paid over N40 billion so far across the nation and the project was a success.

He added that the investigation being carried out by the House of Representatives Committees on Youths, Labour, Finance and Appropriations was in fact, the Presidential Youth Empowerment (P-YES) Scheme, which was not under his purview.
