… Charges PDP leaders ahead of 2023 general election
Valentine Ozigbo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2021 Anambra governorship election, has congratulated the newly-elected National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP, which was inaugurated on Friday, December 10, 2021.
In a statement made available to the press soon after the inauguration, Mr Ozigbo extended his best wishes to Senator Iyorchia Ayu, the new National Chairman of the PDP and other elected officials, especially with the 2023 general elections less than two years away.
“There has never been a time when our party invested as much hope in a new National Working Committee as it does today,” Ozigbo said.
“These are not the best of times for our country. The past seven years of incompetent leadership at the centre has pushed our country to a dangerous precipice. The current federal government has devastated Nigeria economically, politically, and socially. Never have Nigerians been so divided and living without hope.
“Your emergence and successful inauguration of our NWC marks a new era for our party. You have now been tasked with the crucial role of ushering our party into what will be a hotly contested 2023 general elections, the outcome of which will either preserve Nigeria or finally shatter whatever is left of our national cohesion.
“I wish to urge you at this point to demonstrate to our party and Nigerians your leadership qualities which informed our decision to choose you to lead at this time,” Ozigbo, a multiple award-winning global CEO, added.
Valentine Ozigbo is a respected business leader and the immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc. Ozigbo finished runner-up in the November 6 Anambra guber election after running a historic campaign that united Ndi Anambra behind his Ka Anambra Chawapu vision.
Ozigbo, who was the first to congratulate the eventual winner of the election, is generally regarded as the new face of leadership in Anambra State.
