Relief has finally come to Nibo, Achalla-Orji, Umuawulu and Mbaukwu Communities in Awka South Local Government Area, as a Maritime Expert and philanthropist High Chief Dr Azubuike Ekweozor, on Saturday 23rd April, 2022, flagged off the construction of a 10km Nibo-Achallaorji-Umuawulu-Mbaukwu road.
Flagging off the road, the facilitator, Chief Ekweozor stated that the project was motivated out of concern to see that his people get better road transport system to aid them commune comfortably with other communities and also increase their life expectancy.
He assured that the project will not be limited to his Local Government of Awka South, but will also get to Awka North in the Federal Constituency, where there is need for surgical attention. He promised that his rescue agenda will resolve all endemic challenges confronting the people.
High Chief Christopher Ndubuisi who is the CEO, Pinnatech Construction Company, the Engineering Company handling the project, assured that his company will execute the road project following the laid down best practices of the profession and deliver a high-quality job that would stand the test of time.
Ikenga Umuawulu, also noted that the aspiration of Chief Ekweozor , has given many like himself the will to do more for the constituency, as he promised to extend road construction to Amansea, and many more town in Àwka North LGA.
On his own part, the President General of Nibo Town Union, Professor Tony Nwokoye , who also represented HRM Igwe Michael Ngene, commended Ide Umuawulu for making Obizi, Awka North and South, and the entire state proud by complimenting the efforts of the state government in attracting and embarking on infrastructural developmental projects.
Similarly, the former Deputy Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Harford Oseke, expressed joy as he gave his blessings for the self-help project and called on stakeholders at all levels to support what he called the rescue mission of the visionary maritime expert.
Some dignitaries present include HRM Igwe Joel Mmaduadichie Egwuonwu, Chief Emmanuel Ndubuisi ; HRM Igwe Austin Ozoemena Nwankwo, Traditional Ruler of Isiagu; amongst others.
