It was jubilation in Agulu town as well- meaning sons of Agulu empowered people in the community through Table Tennis, Draught, and Ncho competition. The table tennis is for the youths and overall best will go home with one million naira naira while there will be consolation prize.
The draught and Ncho is for the elderly men and women , wherein, the overall best will win 1million for the men and five hundred thousand naira N500,000 for the women.
According to our correspondent, Marvelous Ezenwa, the empowerment began with prayer session from men of God, for cleansing of Agulu town. The event took place at Agulu town hall secretariat, on Saturday 9th July 2022, with the official unveiling and kick off of the event was chaired by Prof. Josephat Ogbuagu.
The youths and elders from the 20 villages in Agulu will fully participate in the empowerment.
The empowerment was sponsored by two illustrious Sons of Agulu for empowerment as a way of keeping the
youths busy and to help the elderly keep their brain alive.
While the sponsor of two hundred youths that will get one million 1,000,000 naira each in their category came from Evang Ugochukwu Okoye popularly known as (Ugolancing), the other sponsor chose to remain anonymous.
The empowerment program will start from August 1st to the last Saturday of August at the town hall.
Speaking to Kpakpando the chairman empowerment committee Comrade Ejike Okoye promised to take a proper measure to ensure the empowerment get to the deserved beneficiaries and to work hard with his team to give a good and transparent
program to Agulu people. The chairman of the
occasion Prof Josephat Ogbuagu charged the people to take the programme seriously as there is more to come. He also commended the President General Chief Oliver Afamuefuna and his executives as well as the people that decided to bring out such amount of money to support his people.
The commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs Mr Collins Nwabuwanne pointed out that the governor of Anambra state Prof Charles Soludo likes this type of gesture and urged them to continue the good work.
The royal father of the day, HRH Igwe Innocent Obodoakor urged all in Agulu to embrace peace for more progress in Agulu. He also commended their Illustrious sons who are behind the empowerment and prayed God to replenish and bless them abundantly and asked others to emulate and follow suit to help the
government develop Agulu.
