There are insinuations that the scarcity of petrol and astronomical increases being experienced across the country would ease soon.
This is coming at the heels of the agreement reached by Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
According to report, stakeholders in the downstream sub-sector of the oil and gas industry recently met with different security agencies in a bid to resolve the problem.
A statement attributed to IPMAN’s national operations controller, Mr Mike Osatuyi, the IPMAN is not planning to shut down operations following federal governments announcement to enforce N195 at liter pump price for the product.
Osatuyi also said that under the agreement, members of the association will begin to get supply directly from the NNPC.
He also noted that henceforth, the independent marketers, in breaking the festering scarcity, has received assurance of direct supply of petrol from the NNPC.
