Man Sentenced To Death By Hanging In Jigawa For Killing Woman
Jigawa State High Court in Birnin Kudu has sentenced Isyaku Wakili Gwanto to death by hanging for killing a woman, Malama Malora Adamu.
The accused was earlier arraigned before the court for allegedly beheading the woman with machete at Duliyari Fulani settlement in Kirikasamma Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The presiding Judge, Justice Musa Ubale, said the offence is culpable homicide punishable with death under Section 221(b) of the Penal Code.
Justice Ubale said the prosecuting counsel had proved his case beyond reasonable doubt and, therefore, sentenced the accused person to death by hanging to serve as deterrence to others.
