APGA Nat. Chairman Salutes “Igbo Can-Do” Spirit At World Igbo Day.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, has extolled the Igbo can-do spirit.
He made the commendation at the annual World Igbo Day, which took place at the Michael Okpara Square, Independent layout Enugu, on 29th September, 2023,
as he joined prominent Igbo sons and daughters to celebrate the timeless splendor of Igbo cultural heritage
The 2023 World Igbo Day began with grand processions and captivating cultural displays, showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of Ndigbo from all participating states, including Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Rivers, and Imo.
The event was organized by the Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide and hosted by Southeast Governors, under the supervision of Dr. Alex Ogbonnia, the National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, aimed at commemorating the pogrom of September 29, 1966, which tragically claimed the lives of many Igbo sons and daughters in the aftermath of the January 15, 1966 military coup.
Despite this sad chapter in history, the celebration served as a testament to the triumph and resilience of Ndi Igbo.
Barr. Ezeokenwa echoed the significance of Igbo unity and strength and its impact on national development.
The grand occasion of IGBO DAY 2023 was adorned with the shimmering brilliance encapsulated in the theme “Igbo Ekunie (Igbos Arise).”
Ezeokenwa paid homage to the indomitable spirit and vibrant legacy of Ndi Igbo, painting a picture of magnificence and triumphs.
The APGA National Chairman stated, “The World Igbo Day represents a remarkable occasion to commemorate the timeless splendor of Ndigbo. It serves as a reminder of the resilient spirit, rich cultural traditions, and invaluable contributions of Ndi Igbo to the development of our nation. It is crucial that we preserve and showcase the beauty of Ndi Igbo, instilling a sense of pride and identity within the hearts and minds of the younger generation.”
Barr. Ezeokenwa called for collective approach in tackling insecurity and the overall development of Alaigbo.
The APGA National Chairman seized the opportunity to salute the resolute can-do spirit ingrained in Ndigbo, lauding their relentless perseverance and unparalleled resourcefulness that serve as harbinger of inspiration to the world.
With pulsating fervor, he emphasized the indispensable significance of Ndigbo in Nigeria, which defines the very essence of being Igbo – a cornerstone of identity that shines radiantly in the vast constellation of human civilization.
Prominent Igbo leaders graced the event, including the chief host, Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State; Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State; Governor Hope Uzodimma, represented by his Deputy, Prof. Placid Njoku; as well as Governor Francis Nwifuru, also represented by his Deputy, Mrs. Patricia Obila.
Also in attendance were former Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama, Amb. Bianca Ojukwu ( wife of the late Biafran warlord), Anglican Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuma, Dr. Chris Ngige (former Labour Minister), among others. The chairman on the occasion was Engr. Arthur Eze.
