APGA National Chairman Calls On INEC To Ensure Credible Election In Imo.

Dr Tony Olisa Mbeki

[Abuja] – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been enjoined to prioritize the conduct of a free, fair, and credible gubernatorial election in Imo State.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, made the call while speaking to journalists at the APGA National Secretariat Complex in Abuja.

He underscored the importance of upholding democratic principles and ensuring the integrity of the electoral process in Imo State.

Ezeokenwa also stressed the need for a credible election that accurately represents the will and aspirations of the people.

Acknowledging the challenges that INEC has faced in previous elections, the APGA National Chairman commended their efforts to improve transparency.

He, however, urged the commission to build upon its achievements and implement additional measures to enhance the credibility of the elections.

The APGA National Chairman specifically underlined the importance of a digital electoral system and sensitization initiatives, emphasizing the need to ensure that all eligible voters are well-informed about their rights and responsibilities.

He maintained that by prioritizing these efforts, INEC can empower voters to actively engage in the electoral process and make informed decisions without fear or confusion.

Barrister Ezeokenwa also called on INEC to demonstrate impartiality and neutrality among all stakeholders involved.

He stressed the necessity of ensuring that the electoral process remains free from any form of undue influence or bias.

Ezeokenwa maintained that by so doing, faith in the democratic system can be preserved, and the outcomes of the election can genuinely reflect the true voice of the people of Imo State.
