Edo Police Arrest Notorious Cultist, Recovers Arms, Ammunition
Edo State Police Command says it has arrested a notorious cultist who had been terrorizing the State.
The command said that the arrest was made following a tip off, adding that the culprit was caught in the act.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, for the Command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, who made this known, said police operatives from Fugar Division, who were on stop and search in the town, intercepted and arrested the Cultist, one Isa Musa (30) who was riding a Hoagie Lady Motorcycle.
He disclosed that when searched, the operatives recovered one cut-to-size English double-barrel gun and nine rounds of live cartridges from the suspect.
He said that the suspect confessed to being a member of Neo Black Africa Movement a.k.a Black Axe.
The PPRO also informed that Isa Musa confessed that he was taking the gun to Auchi to meet with his secret cult members.
Nwabuzor intimated that the suspect and the exhibits would soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Benin-City, for further investigation.
“The Commissioner of Police Edo State Command, CP Funsho Adegboye, has commended the DPO Fugar Division and his men for their gallantry, the artistry and commitment to the fight against criminal elements in the state.
He therefore advised criminals to throw behind them the excuse of hardship as the reason for indulging in crimes and begin to do something legitimate for themselves or face the stiff penalty of the law”, the PPRO concluded.
