Victim Of Alleged Organ Harvesting Dies In Jos

The victim of an alleged organ harvesting in Jos, Plateau State, Alhaji Ibrahim Ejibade, has reportedly died of an undisclosed illness.

He died several months after going public to accuse Mr Norah Kekere of Murna Hospital and Maternity Ltd in Jos, Plateau State of kidney theft,

Family sources disclosed that Ejibade, a resident of William Street in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, died on Wednesday evening, March 13, and has since been buried according to Islamic rites.

A family source said the late Ejibade has been battling unstable health status ever since he underwent surgery for a hernia that was performed by Mr Kekere in 2021.

One of the the man’s sons who confirmed his death, Muhammad Sani, said; “Baba’s illness continued unabated since his surgery at Murna Clinic. You know, we discovered that his left kidney was removed when we went to Jos University Teaching Hospital for scanning following the surgery by Mr Kekere. The matter is still pending in court”.

Sani disclosed that even on the last adjourned date of the court proceedings, their late father managed to appear despite his worsening health condition.

Recall that in September 2023, the late Ejibade accused Mr Kekere of harvesting his right kidney and he was subsequently arrested following a report lodged at the Nasarawa Gown Police Division regarding the removal of Mrs Kehinde Kamal’s right kidney during an operation in 2018.

In the process, Mr. Kekere was dragged before the State high court by the Plateau State Ministry of Justice on behalf of Ejibade and Kehinde Kamal, who also accused the same doctor of organ harvesting.

Meanwhile, available reports indicate that Mr Noah Kekere and his two alleged accomplices, Dr Philip Dachung, and a staff of Murna Clinic, Yusuf Abdullahi, who are currently standing trial, have since been granted bail.
