Airfare prices on the Lagos-London route have seen a significant decline following the introduction of dire HBct flights by Air Peace.
According to aviation expert Bankole Bernard, this drop in prices can be attributed to the emergence of Air Peace as a new player on this major route.
Bernard, who was a guest on a television program , said that there are two major destinations that Nigerians ply. One is Dubai and Dubai has been out of it for a while now , making Nigerians resort to the London route.
He further elaborated that now that Air Peace has come into that space with a direct flight that will not cause any layover in any other country, the price has dropped.
He said that this shift in the market dynamics has led to a reduction in airfare prices, as Air Peace’s direct flights provide a new alternative for travelers, putting pressure on other airlines to adjust their pricing strategies.
Bernard also emphasized that the prices will drop as long as we have another form of supply that is different from the conventional ones.
Last Saturday, Air Peace initiated direct flight operations to Gatwick Airport in London, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s aviation industry.
