In a momentous stride toward elevating beach soccer in Anambra State, the Anambra State Beach Soccer Association proudly introduced its premier team, Anambra Warriors, on April 4th, 2024. Held at the prestigious Moonshine Hotels in Nnewi, the unveiling ceremony, led by Secretary Honorable Ezeakukwu Emmanuel Nsoedo, stood as a landmark occasion in the state’s sports scene.
Gathered in enthusiastic anticipation were esteemed board members, coaches, officials, and players, all geared up for Anambra’s debut in the Nigeria Beach Soccer League. With the first leg slated for April 10th to 13th in Kebi, followed by the honor of hosting the league’s second stage in May, Anambra prepares to shine on the national stage, showcasing its abundance of talent.
In an impassioned address, Honorable Nsoedo rallied widespread support, calling upon both governmental and individual sectors to bolster the team’s journey to success. He expressed unwavering confidence in the future of beach soccer in Anambra, hinting at forthcoming plans for a local league and urging the formation of additional teams across the state
Emmanuel Okwudili, the Association’s media director, echoed the resolute commitment to excellence, emphasizing the establishment of a state-of-the-art beach facility and forthcoming initiatives for a state beach soccer league. Acknowledging the government’s vital role in infrastructure enhancement, Okwudili signaled a promising trajectory for beach soccer in Anambra.
Captain Chinwezu Gabriel echoed the team’s fervent dedication to representing Anambra with utmost pride. With a rallying cry for community support, Anambra Warriors stand poised to make a splash in the Nigeria Beach Soccer League, etching their legacy into the annals of the state’s sporting history.
