Popular social media platforms Facebook and Twitter have taken action against posts from United States President Donald Trump for violating their rules against Coronavirus misinformation which compared Covid-19 to the flu.
According to data from the company’s metric tool known as CrowdTangle, the post has been shared about 26,000 times before it was taken down by Facebook.
Facebook’s spokesman said that they remove incorrect information about the severity of COVID-19.
Facdbook removed Trump’s first post for Coronavirus misinformation for the first time in August for saying that children were almost immune to Covid-19.
Similarly, Twitter also disabled retweets from Trump yesterday . It added a warning that said it broke it’s rules on spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to Covid-19 but left the post because it might be in the public interest for it to remain accessable.
