The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has declared Kazeem Omogoriola Owoalade and Rashidat Ayinke Owoalade wanted for allegedly running a cocaine cartel from India.
In a statement on Sunday, NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi said that four members of the syndicate were arrested in Lagos, leading to the recovery of a Sports Utility Vehicle and the sealing of two houses linked to the couple for forfeiture to the Federal Government.
He said that the couple is accused of coordinating a drug trafficking network, with two members arrested for attempting to export cocaine to Oman via a Qatar Airlines flight.
Efforts to dismantle the network in Nigeria have resulted in additional arrests, including Hamed Abimbola Saheed, who was apprehended for his involvement with the cartel.
Babafemi also stated that the NDLEA’s operations have also intercepted drug consignments destined for China and the UK, concealed in steel bolts and shea butter, demonstrating the agency’s commitment to combating drug trafficking.
NDLEA’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and the significant seizures made in various parts of Nigeria, is a demonstration of the agency’s dedication to curbing illicit drug activities.
