Police Arrest Two For Armed Robbery/Rape In Anambra, Recover Three Locally Made Guns, Six Live Cartridges, Motorcycle
Police Operatives attached to Abagana Division, in the early hours of Saturday,15/6/2024,
arrested two serial offenders wanted for alleged rape and armed robbery.
Police report said two locally made double barrel guns, one locally made single barrel gun, six live cartridges, and one Q link motorcycle were recovered from the suspects.
A release signed by the State Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, and made available to the Press on Sunday, 16th June, 2024, disclosed that the suspects, Chukwuma Diji ‘M’ AKA Sympathy or Chi-boy aged 35, of Obinagu Umudunu Village, Abagana, and Micheal Edochie ‘M’ AKA Mikel, aged 31, of Eziabunabu Umudunu, Abagana sometime last year, 2023, allegedly raped married woman at Obinagu Abagana and fled the Community when Security Operatives attempted to arrest them.
According to the release, also on 6/6/2024, the suspects broke into an apartment belonging to a young lady and raped her and her friend at gunpoint.
It further revealed that the criminals later forced one of the victims to transfer money to his account after they took turns of sex with them, adding that Chukwuma and Micheal both confessed to the crime.
The release said that the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Itam, has ordered immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for Comprehensive look to get justice for the victims of the alleged crime, stating also that the suspects will be arraigned in court after the investigation.
