Abducted Former Delta Commissioner Found Dead, Body Disposed At River Niger

Former Delta State Commissioner for Technical Education, Evang. Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor, known as Ada Anioma, was found dead at the River Niger bank in Onitsha, Anambra State.
The 58-year-old victim was brutally murdered by a six-man gang of kidnappers.
Her body was discovered around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, three days after she was abducted from her Church in Asaba.
Mrakpor, the wife of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Mr. Peter Mrakpor, had been severely tortured before her death.
The kidnappers did not demand ransom or contact her family and burned her car to destroy evidence.
The abductors also killed her two police orderlies.
It was learnt that the former Commissioner was a notable political figure in Delta State, having served as a legislator in both the House of Representatives and the Delta State House of Assembly.
Her murder has deeply shocked and saddened the community.
