Nigeria’s Minister of Sports Development, John Enoh, has apologized to the nation for the poor performance of the Nigerian team at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, where the country failed to win any medals.
Despite the government allocating ₦12 billion for the Olympics and Paralympics, with ₦9 billion designated for the Olympics alone, the results were disappointing.
In a statement on Sunday, Enoh acknowledged that the team fell short of expectations and emphasized the need for reflection and improvement ahead of the Paralympic Games later this month. He assured Nigerians that a comprehensive review of the athletes’ preparation and performance is already underway.
