Flooding has claimed three lives and destroyed over 1,000 houses across Shira, Giade, and Katagum local government areas.
The flooding impact is still being assessed.
The Director General of the State Emergency Management Agency, Mas’ud Aliyu, confirmed the tragic loss of lives in Shira and extensive damage across the region. The Bauchi State Government has responded by providing emergency relief, including food, blankets, and financial aid.
SEMA said that more flooding has been predicted in Bauchi State in the coming days.
