Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, has urged the Nigerian government to fully remove fuel subsidies.
Speaking in a Bloomberg interview, Dangote said ending subsidies would clarify the country’s true petrol consumption and ease fiscal pressures.
He emphasized that subsidies lead to inflated prices, costing the government unnecessarily. Dangote also revealed plans to track oil trucks from his Lagos refinery to ensure accurate monitoring of fuel distribution.
Additionally, he announced the upcoming production from two oil blocks in October, though he won’t invest heavily in upstream operations.
