On Foreign News,

The United Nations has condemned what it described as an “unlawful air strike” by Israel on a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, which reportedly killed 18 people the previous day, according to the Palestinian health ministry.

In a statement, the UN rights office expressed concern over a troubling pattern of excessive force by Israeli security forces during military operations in the West Bank, resulting in widespread harm to Palestinians and damage to infrastructure.

The UN called for an independent investigation into the incident, highlighting that the strike represents a systematic and unlawful use of lethal force.

The Israeli army confirmed the air strike on the Tulkarem refugee camp, stating it was part of a joint operation with the Shin Bet internal security service and the air force, aimed at eliminating a Hamas leader, Zahi Yaser Abd al-Razeq Oufi.

A Palestinian security source described the air raid as the deadliest in the West Bank since 2000.
