The states, including Kogi, Ondo, and Edo, argue that the EFCC was established without proper adherence to constitutional requirements, as outlined in Section 12 of the 1999 Constitution. They contend that the EFCC cannot operate in states that did not approve its establishment.
The case, initially brought by Kogi’s Attorney General, has been consolidated with other states joining as co-plaintiffs. The outcome could significantly impact the EFCC’s authority.
