The Federal Government has designated two Nigerian airlines, Air Peace and Caverton, to operate direct flights between Nigeria and Brazil.
This decision follows discussions between Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo and Brazilian Ambassador Carlos Garcete to activate the Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA).
The initiative aims to enhance air connectivity and economic cooperation, with both nations potentially facilitating four to five flights per week. Keyamo expressed optimism about the economic benefits of these direct flights, emphasizing their role in strengthening cultural and trade ties.
Committees will be established to finalize the new BASA arrangements, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria-Brazil relations.
