The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has auctioned seized petrol in Yola, Adamawa State.
Comptroller General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, represented by Deputy Controller General Olaniyi Olajugun, announced the auction during a press briefing, with the fuel sold at ₦630 per litre at two stations in Yola.
The seizure highlights ongoing efforts to combat fuel smuggling, with two lorries, over 1,000 kegs, and 12 drums of petroleum products confiscated during “Operation Whirlwind.” Adeniyi emphasised the importance of vigilance and warned that offenders will face the full force of the law.
He urged Nigerians, especially those in border states, to support the operation to protect national resources and ensure fair benefits from fuel deregulation.
