Two Regain Freedom At Nnewi Custodial Center, Others Granted Bail In Anambra Jail Delivery Exercise
Chief Judge of Anambra State, Hon. Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, has discharged two inmates of the Medium Security Custodial Center, Nnewi.
He discharged the duo when he visited the Center on jail delivery exercise.
Justice Anyachebelu, represented by his second in command and Administrative Judge of Onitsha Judicial Division, Justice Ifeanyi Nweze, also granted bail to a murder suspect, Benedict Ikebunna, a robbery suspect, Ikenna Ezeoke, and Chimamkpam Ngeremba accused of stealing and malicious damage.
Speaking to newsmen after appearing for about 20 inmates ‘pro bono’, Reverend Barrister Lotanna Ogbuchukwu advised those who regained freedom not to abuse the privilege, but to find ways of being useful to themselves and the society.
In his remark, Justice Onochie commended speedy dispensation of criminal matters in the area, acknowledging that there has been a significant improvement on what used to be.
Contributing, the Officer in-charge of the custodial center, Ikenna Nwobor, urged those who regained freedom to make use of life-changing trainings they received at the center to be useful to themselves and the society.
