The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has cautioned against any attempt to impeach Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, calling such a move unconstitutional and futile.
In a statement, HURIWA’s National Coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko, accused FCT Minister Nyesom Wike of instigating lawmakers loyal to him to remove the governor. The group warned that impeachment could plunge Rivers into political instability and urged all parties to prioritize peace and governance.
HURIWA also called on security agencies to remain neutral and condemned alleged attempts to undermine the judiciary. The group urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene and prevent further escalation of the crisis.
