The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has thanked Biafrans at home and abroad for observing the 2025 Biafra Heroes Remembrance Day on May 30th.
In a statement signed by spokesperson Emma Powerful, IPOB praised residents and supporters in the South East and South South for complying with its sit-at-home order.
The day honors victims of the 1967–1970 civil war and others who died in the Biafran struggle.
IPOB urged governors to declare May 30 a public holiday, like June 12. The group also renewed calls for the release of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, and reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful advocacy.
