The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has invited 90 junior athletes to a national camp in preparation for the 2025 Confederation of African Athletics U-20 and U-18 Championships in Abeokuta, Ogun State, from July 16–20.
AFN President, Chief Tonobok Okowa, said training begins immediately, with trials set to determine the final squad. The three-week camp will focus on physical conditioning, technical skills, and teamwork, especially in relay events.
Okowa emphasized the goal is not just medals but also to expose young athletes to high-level competition. As hosts, Nigeria aims for a strong showing and to inspire a new generation of athletics champions on home soil.
