Former President Muhammadu Buhari has been laid to rest in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State.
The 82-year-old former leader was buried Tuesday evening with full military honours and Islamic rites, in the presence of family, political associates, and dignitaries.
His body arrived from London earlier in the day, received at the Katsina Airport by President Bola Tinubu and top officials. Buhari died on Sunday at The London Clinic after a prolonged illness.
A former military ruler and two-term civilian president, Buhari served Nigeria for nearly a decade. Though widely known for his anti-corruption stance, his legacy remains mixed among citizens.
Flags flew at half-mast nationwide, marking a day of mourning for the former Commander-in-Chief.
