The family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed deep gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, top government officials, and Nigerians from all walks of life for their support before and after Buhari’s death.
In a statement signed by Garba Shehu on Sunday, the eldest member of the Buhari family, Malam Mamman Daura, said the outpouring of love and sympathy from both within and outside Nigeria gave the family the strength to bear the loss.
He appreciated President Tinubu for giving a public holiday and changing the name of the University of Maiduguri to honour the late president.
He also appreciated Vice President Kashim Shettima for personally attending the burial in Daura and visiting the family in the UK.
