The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course will officially begin nationwide on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
In a statement released via its official Facebook page on Monday, the NYSC confirmed that registration across all orientation camps will run until midnight on Friday, September 26, while the swearing-in ceremony will also take place on that day. The three-week exercise will conclude with a closing ceremony on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
However, the scheme clarified that the orientation course in Kwara State will commence later than others, starting on Tuesday, September 30, and ending on Monday, October 20, 2025.
The Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, urged all Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) to strictly adhere to the details contained in their call-up letters and ensure compliance with all registration requirements. Foreign-trained graduates are expected to present their international passports alongside the original copies of all uploaded documents, while graduates of monotechnics and polytechnics must produce their National Diploma certificates during registration.
General Nafiu issued a strong warning against the presentation of fake documents, stressing that offenders would be handed over to law enforcement agencies for prosecution. He also outlined procedures for corps members who may have misplaced their call-up letters, noting that those who collected theirs from their institutions must present a police report and sworn affidavit before approaching their schools for assistance, while those who printed theirs online may reprint copies.
Addressing safety concerns, the NYSC boss advised PCMs to avoid night journeys while traveling to their various camps. “Once it is 6:00pm, prospective corps members are enjoined to break their journeys and spend the night at military or police barracks, NYSC secretariats, or corps lodges nearest to their disembarkation point,” the statement read.
He further cautioned corps members to only use government-approved motor parks and licensed transport companies to reduce the risk of falling victim to criminal activities.
General Nafiu also reiterated that any prospective corps member who refuses to report for service or participates illegally in the scheme will face prosecution as stipulated by the NYSC Act.
He noted that married women, pregnant women, and nursing mothers posted outside their husbands’ states of residence are permitted to complete the orientation programme in their state of domicile, provided they present evidence of marriage, their husbands’ identification, and proof of residence.
For registration, all corps members must present their original call-up letters, statements of result or certificates, school identity cards, and certificates of medical fitness issued by government or military hospitals stamped by the Nigerian Medical Association. Medical and allied health graduates must also provide proof of registration with their respective professional bodies.
Concluding the announcement, the NYSC Director-General wished all prospective corps members safe travels and a successful service year.
