.Sir Paul Chukwuma, Governorship Candidate of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State, led his Joy Is Coming campaign to Aguata Local Government where he was warmly received by teaming supporters and stakeholders in Old Aguata Union of Aguata, Orumba South, Orumba North LGAs.
In his message, Sir Paul posited that Aguata holds a special place in his history because Ekwulobia has been home to me since around 1982 to date.
He noted that the Old Aguata Bloc, made up of three LGAs of Aguata, Orumba North and Orumba South, is an essential part of Anambra’s comparative advantage in commerce, industry and agriculture.
The YPP Guber Candidate however noted that unfortunately, the entire Aguata bloc has been overwhelmed by insecurity, with criminal camps set up in different farmlands around the axis.
He assured that under his watch, insecurity in Old Aguata and, indeed, across Anambra State will be a thing of the past in just three months.
Sir Paul noted that Ekwulobia has emerged as a significant transit hub, and oday, the government has taken over and centralised the transport terminals. He maintained that this is inconsistent with the wishes of the people of Aguata, and would resolved.
The governorship hopeful promised that once they assume office they would strengthen popular markets in OAU like the Nkwo Igboukwu, which has been a prominent market for many years, with traders coming to buy from far and near. “Ekwulobia has emerged as a significant transit hub. Today, the government has taken over and centralised the transport terminals. This is inconsistent with the wishes of the people of Aguata. We shall resolve this. “We shall strengthen popular markets in OAU like the Nkwo Igboukwu, which has been a prominent market for many years, with traders coming to buy from far and near. We shall modernise that market so that it will have the capability to reach its full potential.”As I observed in Nnewi the day before, we shall prioritize the welfare of our teachers. At the moment, there is no government owned teachers’ quarters in Aguata. We shall provide solid infrastructure to accelerate teaching and learning across our dear State,'”
“Thank you, Ndi Aguata”
Thank you, Orumba North and Orumba South’, he concluded.
