INEC Publishes Final List of 18 Presidential Candidates for 2027 Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the final list of presidential candidates for the 2027 general elections.

The publication which was signed by Rose Oriaran-Anthony, Secretary of the Commission, contains the names and particulars of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates nominated by 18 political parties for the presidential election.

The document, titled “Presidential and National Assembly Elections for Jan, 2027 – Presidential Final List of Candidates,” contains details including the candidates’ names, ages, gender and qualifications.

Among the candidates on the list are Peter Gregory Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress (AAC), Donald Duke of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), and Sandy Ojang Onor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The 18 presidential candidates, in the order published by INEC, are:

1. Rufai Adekunle Omo-Aje – Action Alliance (AA)

2. Abbas-Bin Aliyu – Action Democratic Party (ADP)

3. Yusuf Kabiru – Allied Peoples Party (APP)

4. Sowore Omoyele – African Action Congress (AAC)

5. Abubakar Atiku – African Democratic Congress (ADC)

6. Tinubu Bola Ahmed – All Progressives Congress (APC)

7. Makinde Oluseyi Abiodun – Allied Peoples Movement (APM)

8. Adenuga Sunday – Boot Party (BP)

9. Adebisi Moses Olusoji – Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA)

10. Okereke Sunday Chibuzo – Labour Party (LP)

11. Okwori Ada Elizabeth Fredrick – National Democratic Party (NDP)

12. Okereke Nkem Esther – National Rescue Movement (NRM)

13. Obi Peter Gregory – Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC)

14. Onor Sandy Ojang – Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

15. Duke Donald – Peoples Redemption Party (PRP)

16. Adebayo Adewole Ebenezer – Social Democratic Party (SDP)

17. Agada Peter Ada – Young Progressives Party (YPP)

18. Nwanyanwu Daniel Daberechukwu – Zenith Labour Party (ZLP)

The 2027 Presidential and National Assembly elections are scheduled to hold on January 16, 2027, while the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections are scheduled for February 6, 2027 as contained in the Commission’s 2027 timetable.

The publication of the final list marks another stage in INEC’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.
