The traditional ruler of Umuawulu, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, has urged the federal government to critically and urgently address the high level of insecurity in the country to safeguard the lives of Nigerians.
Igwe Egwuonwu in a press statement, in his Palace, expressed worry that the Boko Haram insurgency is taking too long to overcome, and doubted the capacity of the nation’s military in facing external aggressors if they arise.
The royal father expects that more serious steps be taken to nip the activities of the sect in the bud.
Describing the year 2020 as the worst in his life, the traditional ruler admonished every right thinking Nigerian to be grateful to God for surviving the year.
Igwe Egwuonwu used the forum to wish his constituents the best of the season, and made special reference to one of his subjects, High Chief Christopher Ndubuisi, for attracting some federal projects to the constituents, and further thanked the Federal Ministry of Works for including the Umuawulu-Amaetiti road as one of the designated roads captured in the 2021 national budget.
He expressed hope that the road would be completed in
no distant time.
