Statistics show that Nigeria ranks second in the world in the highest number of children with tuberculosis (TB)

According to a release by the Federal Government, Nigeria is second only to India in the global child tuberculosis index.

Minister of State for Health, Dr Olorunnimbe Mamora, disclosed during the ministerial briefing to commemorate 2021 World TB Day, with the theme: ‘The Clock Is Ticking’.

The Federal Government lamented that 50 Nigerians develop active TB every hour, with 10 out of them being children

Federal Government lamented that every hour, 18 Nigerians die from TB, which is a preventable and curable disease.
