Citizens Urged To Know Their Limits As They Enjoy This Festive Period
The Chief Medical Director of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu University Teaching hospital, Awka, Dr Joe Akabuike, has called on the citizenry to avoid negative lifestyles that can mar their celebrations of the birth of Jesus Christ and the New Year.
Such habits he mentioned, include over eating, over drinking and smoking.
In a press statement on the Yuletide, Dr. Akabuike called for positive lifestyles that will also promote healthy and friendly environment.
The CMD wished that positive changes will be experienced in Nigeria to make life bearable for the masses.
Dr. Akabuike used the forum to announce plans by the Teaching Hospital to commission its Consultants Lounge for doctors relaxation before the Christmas celebration.
In a related development, a former Provost of the Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, Dr. Mrs.Ego Uzoezie, has encouraged the citizenry not to be disillusioned by the harsh economic realities in Nigeria, but to be hopeful that as long as there is life, things may turn out to be better.
Dr. Uzoezie further reminded the electorate of their responsibility to be part of the historical moment of electing new leaders for Nigeria in next year’s general elections.
For the Presidential election, she urged the electorate to cast their votes for the Labour Party flag bearer, Mr. Peter Obi, to deliver on his promise to move the nation from operating a consumption economy to a productive one.
