
A former Chancellor of the Awka Catholic Diocese, Very Reverend Monsignor Professor John Paul Nzomiwu, has called on the Anambra state government to take decisive acton on recalcitrant traders who have constituted mini markets along Zik’s Avenue, close to the closed Eke Awka Market.
Worried by the emergence of these make shift markets as cases of coronavirus soars, Monsignor Nzomiwu urged the state government to act fast in dislodging the markets to avert further spread of the disease in the state.
He regretted that people are making mockery of government’s intention of temporarily closing the Eke Awka market, and therefore expects that the needful be done to restore sanity in the system.
Monsignor Nzomiwu a resident Priest at St.Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka, also posited that the church is doing its best to get parishioners adhere to the dictates of the state government in averting the spread of covid-19.
