The Leone stars of Sierra Leone on Friday, came back from 4 goals down to play out a 4 – 4 draw against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier which took place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin.

According to reports on the game, The Super Eagles had put Nigeria in solid position to win after scoring 4 goals in the first half. Sierra Leone, however pulled an amazing comeback to dash the hopes of Nigerians and secure a point in Benin.

Everton mid fielder, Alex Iwobi opened scoring for Nigeria as early as the 4th minute with a fine strike from the edge of the box.

Returning star striker for the Eagles, Victor Osimhen then doubled the lead 17 minutes after, to compound the woes of the Leone Stars.

Things got worse for the Sierra Leoneans when Iwobi again, made it 3-0 in the 27th minute, shortly followed by another goal 2 minutes after by Samuel Chukwueze to increase the tally to 4 in the first half.

Four minutes to the end of the half however, Kwame Quee pulled one back for the Leone stars to make it 4-1 going into the break.

In the second half, the Sierra Leoneans attacked fiercely, and substitutes Al-Hadji Kamara and Mustapha Bundu turned the tables as the duo combined to get 3 goals in the 72nd, 80th and 86th minutes that saw the Leone Stars force a 4-4 draw at the end of the day.

Despite the loss, the Eagles are still top in Group L with seven points from three games while the Leone Stars are now third on the group with two points.
