
At the Thanksgiving Mass for the successful burial of late Ezinne Veronica Nwume, which took place at St Theresa Catholic Church Nibo, in Awka South Council Area of Anambra, on Sunday 13th December 2020, a Choirister, Mrs Beatrice Asiegbu was honoured as Mother-General of St Cecilia Choir, St. Theresa Parish Nibo.

Announcing the Investiture on Mrs Beatrice, the Priest in-charge, St. Theresa Catholic Church Nibo, Rev. Sylvester Duru, pointed out that Mrs Beatrice has been a committed chorister with the Parish for decades, reputed for her penchant for singing despite her age, adding that her commitment to the church choristry and other activities deserves commendation and emulation.

In his homily during the Thanksgiving Mass, the Parish Priest noted that one of the essence of creation of human beings was to radiate love and happiness which according to him, was one of the reason, the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Nsukka, Rt Rev Geoffrey Igwebuike Onoh, who officiated during the funeral mass of Late Mrs. Akuvue, visted Nibo over the weekend to pay last respect to the departed Matriarch because the son, Engr Sir Innocent Akuvue, radiates love.
Dwelling further, Rev Fr. Sylvester added that by showing love and radiating happiness, the ultimate prize the Lord Jesus Christ paid on the Cross of calvary to redeem humanity from eternal condemnation is being exemplified and demonstrated for non Christians to come to the understanding of what Christianity stands for.
He however urged Christians all over the world to use their positions, influence, tentacles and their different places of work to radiate joy and love of God especially now we are in Yuletide seasons adding that those who assist the poor and those from struggling homes are biblically lending to the Lord.
He also consoled the entire Akuvue family for the departure of their matriarch, urging them to take consolation in the numerous legacies their mother left behind while alive and prayed God to grant the departed, a peaceful repose.
In his separate remarks, the President General Nibo Town Union, Engr Dr. Sir, Innocent Akuvue, commended the Parish priest, Rev. Sylvester Duru, other clergymen, Cathecists, and entire St Theresa family for their support throughout the funeral ceremony , saying that it is only God who can reward each and everyone for their respective contributions before, during and after the burial ceremony.
He equally paid a glowing commendation to St Cecilia Choir of St theresa Parish for deservedly honouring Mrs. Beatrice Asiegbu with Mother-General of St Cecilia Chorister Investiture.
He announced that, as a way of support and encouragement, will place Mrs Beatrice on a monthly salary till the rest of her.
Mrs. Asiegbu who is in her late eighties, in a brief interview with kpakpando Correspondent, Udoka Nwokoye, thanked Engr. Innocent Akuvue, for his numerous support to the church and evangelism and noted that with the salary, she is revived and already strengthen to do more and prayed God to satisfy the donor with all his heart desires.
Other treasured moments of the Thanksgiving mass which made it memorable were Igbaenyi cultural display which the President General also supported with ₦250,000, taking of Holy Eucharist and different family Thanksgiving.
