
The Nigerian Red Cross Society, Anambra State Branch, in commemoration of the international human rights day on Friday donated some medical equipments to the Primary Health Care Center in Umuogbu Village Awka, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra.
According to a statement by the branch Communications Officer, Fidelis Ikeji, some of the Equipments donated include:
Hand Gloves, Adhesive tapes, Extractors, Gauze Bandages, Syringes, Needles, Cannulas, Suction Tube, Measuring Tapes, Plastic Drawsheet, Apron, Forceps, Scalpel Handle, Scissors.
Others like Clynical and Digital Thermometers, Shygomanometer, Stethoscope,
Tourniquet and latex rubber amongst others were also presented during the visit.
Speaking at the presentation, the State Chairman of the Red Cross, Prof. Peter Emeka Katchy stated that the primary health care was selected because of its service to humanity.
Lauding the Red Cross for the gesture, the Awka South LGA Chairman, Chief Leo Nwuba, expressed delight to recieve the Red Cross team in his Local Government, urging other humanitarian organizations to emulate the kind gesture.
Also expressing appreciation to the leadership of Red Cross Society, the Matron of the Primary Healthcare Mrs Grace Nwobu promised that all the materials donated will be used judiciously.
