Fifteen lawmakers from The Economy Rescue Group have called for the resignation of Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

The group, led by Esosa Iyawe, accused Kyari of mismanagement, which they say undermines President Bola Tinubu’s administration. They demand Kyari’s suspension pending a House of Representatives’ investigation into the state of the national oil company.

The lawmakers claim Kyari’s leadership has led to the presence of middlemen in trading, issuance of indiscriminate licenses, and influx of adulterated products, among other issues.

They urge decisive action to support Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
