200 Unregistered Vehicles Impounded In Lagos Within 48hrs
Lagos State Government has impounded no fewer than two hundred unregistered and unpainted vehicles within 48 hours, in its bid to curb insecurity across the State.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, who disclosed in a statement on Tuesday, said that the exercise was conducted by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA team.
According to Giwa who led the LASTMA team during the exercise, the measure was part of proactive effort to enhance road safety, security and regulate the transportation sector.
He explained that unregistered vehicles posed significant risk to road safety and security, as they often bypass necessary inspections and regulations, jeopardizing their roadworthiness.
Giwa said, “The State Government is taking this matter seriously and will hold such companies accountable for their actions.
“Transport companies operating without the appropriate documentation will face legal consequences,” he stressed.
