3 Arrested In Ilorin Over Abduction Of Female Magistrate
Police in Kwara State have arrested three persons for allegedly kidnapping a senior Magistrate, Mrs Jumoke Bamigboye.
Jumoke Bamigboye, wife of a former military administrator of Bauchi and Osun states, was kidnapped on Saturday by gunmen.
She was abducted at the Oko-Olowo axis of Ilorin, the state capital, while she returning from the farm.
She was however, released on Monday night after three days in captivity.
The kidnappers reportedly demanded N100 million ransom for her release but later reduced it to N50 million after negotiations with the family.
Her husband, Retired Colonel Theophilus Bamigboye, confirmed that ransom was paid to the kidnappers, but did not disclose the specific amount paid.
He said she was taken to the hospital for medical treatment after her release.
The Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, Okasanmi Ajayi, confirmed the report.
He said three suspects have been arrested in connection with the abduction, while efforts are still on to arrest the remaining suspects.
