35-year-old Man In Prison Custody For Allegedly Raping Two Year Old Baby
A 35 year old man, Joseph Egwuatu has been remanded in prison by the Children, Sexual and Gender Based Violence Magistrate Court in Awka for allegedly raping a 2 year old baby in Anambra West LGA.
Joseph who hails from Nzam in Anambra West LGA, was arraigned before the Children, Sexual and Gender Based Violence Magistrate court in Awka on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, on a two count charge bothering on rape.
The charge was read to him but he did not take a plea.
Reacting to the report, the State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Hon. Ify Obinabo, expressed dismay over incident, and noting that the law will definitely take its course.
The Women Affairs Commissioner revealed that her ministry is starting a media tour where ndị Anambra will be sensitized on the dangers and consequences of rape, child molestation, child labor, abuse and other related matters.
She enjoined all to shun all forms of vices and be agents of change for better society.
