511 Police Officers Trained At Oji River Police College, Enugu To Be Deployed To Their LGAs-

The commandant, Oji River Police College, Enugu State, CP Okon O. Effiong, has revealed that the newly recruited constables trained in the college will be deployed to their various local governments of origin “pursuant to the IGP’s avowed will to ensure the realisation and effectiveness of Mr President’s effort at community policing.”

CP Okon stated this during the passing out parade ceremony of 2020 recruit constables intake held on the 6th of July, 2022 at the Oji River Police College field.

The commandant also said that the 511 new recruits were drawn from Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi States. Anambra has 184 (116 males and 68 females), Ebonyi 138 (88 males and 50 females) while Enugu has 189 (113 males and 76 females).

He further stated that the new recruits are ready for the job because “In the course of the training, they were exposed to training in basic Professional/Police duties, Liberal and Legal studies, Drills Operational combat crafts and musketry.

They were also subjected to a high level of moral trainings as well as tenets of Democratic community policing, rule of law and fundamental human rights.

The college Boss also added that “4 recruits were discharged from the College for various offences that bothered on misconduct while one was discharged on health ground. Furthermore, 5 police constables are to be retarded for failing to meet the minimum tolerable college code.”
