
In response to the ban on tricycle and shuttle bus operations flying the major roads in the state by the state government by 7 pm, various communities have taken it upon themself to ensure the ban is fully enforced.
Our correspondent Udoka Nwokoye , who visited some communities in Obizi area reports that there is total compliance by the operators.
In Mbaukwu community precisely at Namkpu village , different youths in partnership with the local vigilante service , coordinated by the immediate past community Youth leader , Comrade Anaya Offor were seen on ground ensuring no Tricycle or shuttle mini bus violate the ban.
According to the former Community Youth Leader, rising waves of insecurity in the state had nesecitated the government to act by banning commercial activities of tricycle and shuttle mini bus operators beyond 7pm, saying that is what the youth came out in partnership with local vigilantee to enforce.
He warned the criminal elements in the community particularly those using tricycle and mini buses to perpetrate crime to stay away from the community or better still get himself or herself in numerous legitimate business.
He maintained that Mbaukwu community will always accord equal treatment to both indigenes and Non-indegene residents in the town as the traditional ruler of Mbaukwu, Igwe Peter Anugwu has always maintained that he will not tolerate any stereotyping.
Mr. Offor however assured that the youths have been cautioned to conduct themsélves in an orderly manner and to hand over any operator caught violating the order to the appropriate authority .
