
Anambra State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission, Adeoye Irelewuyi, has again warned the Motoring public to desist from speed and drive within speculated speed limits.
He said traffic rules and regulations must be obeyed at all times.
The advice followed a Fatal Road traffic crash that occurred before Amawbia bridge inward Enugu Section of the Express by Awka-Enugu Expressway on Tuesday, 4th January 2021 at about 18:15hrs.

Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi also Commiserated with the families of the dead victim and wished the injured victim a quick recovery.
A release signed by Acting Sector Public Education Officer, DRC Margaret Onabe, said the crash was between two vehicles, an unidentified driver of a black Nissan Pathfinder (private) with registration number: EPE285EP. and an unidentified driver of a white/blue Howo Trailer with no registration number.

The probable cause of the serious crash was attributed to excessive speed.
According to an eyewitness report, the driver of the Nissan Pathfinder was on high speed, lost control and rammed into the trailer, and crashed.

3 male adults were involved in the crash.
Number injured: 1 male adult (passenger of the Nissan Pathfinder)
Number killed: 1 male adult(driver of the Nissan Pathfinder)
One was rescued unhurt. (driver of the trailer)
The injured victims were rushed to AMAKU Hospital Awka Where 1 male adult was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
The FRSC rescue team on the ground managed traffic and ensured the obstruction caused was cleared.
