Following the endorsement of Chief Peter Obi as a candidate for Nigeria’s 2023 presidential election by the Anambra state traditional rulers council, a member of the council and the traditional ruler of Umuawulu, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, has described his ambition as a welcome development.
Igwe Egwuonwu in a press statement at his Umuawulu palace noted that traditional rulers in the state will woo their counterparts in other states in support of chief Obi’s political ambition.
According to the royal father, Chief Obi remains the most qualified contestant for the nation’s number one seat.
He urged Nigerians to support Chief Obi and the Igbo presidency as equity demands.
Igwe Egwuonwu expressed conviction that given Obi’s soundtrack records, will fix the nation’s battered economy if given the opportunity to govern.
In a related development, the Chairman, Akpu village in Ukpo town, Dunukofia Council Area, Dr Johnson Ezedinachi, has urged Ndigbo to sink their primordial interests and rally around one Igbo candidate for the presidential election.
