The Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, has appealed to the federal government to grant freedom to the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Archbishop Ibezim, made the plea during his charge at the Third Session of the Twelveth Synod of Awka Diocese, holding at Saint Peter’s Anglican Church, Abagana.
According to the Archbishop, “it is my wish and also the wish of the Synod that I’m pleading with the federal government that Nnamdi Kanu be released immediately”.
He said that agitations by some groups stemmed from marginalization experienced by some groups across the country, urging the federal government to take steps to address those issues at stake.
He maintained that there could hardly be peace where there is no justice and fairness.
